TO BOOK A.E. HEARN FOR EVENTS, EMAIL MANAGER@AEHEARN.COM WITH “SPEAKING OPPORTUNITY” AS THE SUBJECT LINE.
In 2016, Hearn was a guest speaker for a Freshman Poetry class, presenting her work "Sincerely, John Nash," "Love Letter to Alex Turner," "The Most Fascinating Dilemma," and "The Attic."
In 2017, she had the honor of being the Introduction Speaker for Author Sarah Manguso at a book reading at Columbia College.
That same year, Hearn was nominated to be the Alumni Speaker for the Emerging Leaders Institute Induction Dinner, where she gave a motivational speech to the incoming class of young leaders.
In 2017 and 2018, she presented more of her own unpublished work of poetry and creative nonfiction for two years in the CMU Humanities conference, including her poems "Sincerely, John Nash," "Love Letter to Alex Turner," and "The Most Fascinating Dilemma" and her nonfiction piece "Mitchell Taylor Takes on Columbia Bar Life."
In 2019, upon her promotion to President of Lambda Pi Eta (the Communication Honor Society at Columbia College), she presented awards and honors to fellow Lambda Pi Eta members. She was also elected an Alumni Speaker to give a motivational speech to the incoming Emerging Leaders Institute Program class (see video below).
That same year, Hearn performed in the Columbia College Literary Review's Bad Poetry Reading - a fun spoof that involved writing and performing hilariously "on-purpose" bad poems as a creative addition to the CCLR Release Party for the debut of their Spring 2019 - Vol. 8 Journal of Literature and Art, of which Hearn was Editor-In-Chief.
Hearn enjoys being able to travel and speak about her book, being a writer, and giving fellow creatives advice on writing, publishing, and seeing their dreams through to fruition. She has been invited to speak on several occasions since the publication of her book in May 2020. Check out some of those events below.
